happy cny

新年快乐!
祝大家生体健康,万事如意!
happy new year,
wishing everyone health and blessings in your endeavours!

The festive season of Chinese New Year has come once again, and while some may tire of yet another year of visiting relatives' and friends' houses and answering the same old questions again (what are you doing now? so how is work/sch? etc etc), I actually enjoy it pretty much. It gives me the opportunity to be updated about my uncles'/aunts'/cousins' lives and it is a joy to see my nieces and nephews all growing up (and naughtier, no doubt).

I found myself tiring more easily this time though. Many of my nieces and nephews have reached the age where they are super hyperactive! Fwah. Run up, run down, scream scream scream, and the likes. Phew!

The longer-than-usual hols also meant a bit more visiting of friends' houses, which was nice. Plus the night the cell had steamboat together, and then chatting on the breakwater. Cherished memories! I miss late hanging-outs with friends in the open. SU>> we used to do that eh? Playing Taboo in the park at 2am? heehee.

That night also effectively wiped out whatever benefits that my looong hours of sleep in NZ did to my eyebags though. They're all back!

The first day of CNY also fell on a Sunday this year, something that doesn't happen often. Visiting God's house first of all on the first day of the lunar new year is what my family - and the rest who went for church service that morning - did, although I didn't think of it that way initially, until Pastor mentioned it in her sermon. May we continue to similarly put God first above all else in our lives as we begin the new year!
